This card is made of paper processed from the water hyacinth plant on Lake Victoria. Since the plant invaded the lake about a decade ago, various initiatives have come up to help local people utilize it as part of poverty alleviation efforts. This card is made by young women in the town of Kisumu, while the intricate wire design is made at TEMAK.
