With glossy finishing, internal compartments and wonderfully painted designs of African traditional life, this  jewel box from Western Kenya could be a touch of the exotic upon your dressing table. Its origins are humble though: made by young people from recycled sheet metal obtained from industry in the town of Kisumu.

This box can be fastened using a leather strap as shown below. Should it have a more sturdy lock? Maybe the young people of Kisumu will think of that.

Dimensions: 6"x 5"x 3¾" deep.
