At Afrikapamoja, we've seen baskets woven out of papyrus, sisal and water hyacinth. Now we introduce a new weaving material: palm fronds. The baskets above have been intricately made from the fronds of the palm tree. Properly treated, the material is not only strong enough for a basket, but can be used as roofing for houses. The handles of this basket are rigid.
