The clinic and laboratory services

We are located next to the Obunga slums where poverty, malnutrition, HIV/AIDS, skin diseases, poor hygiene and sanitation has aggravated the health situation making it difficult to access quality healthcare.. Most of the slum dwellers are our customers and they receive treatment at an affordable rate. We provide home based care services to patients and follow up to acertain their daily medication and personal hygiene.

Our clinic has three well trained staff comprising of a clinical officer, a laboratory assistant and a clinical nurse who offer quality treatment and medication and services. Counseling services are also offered.

Due to the poor hygiene and economic status of the community members, they are prone to the attack of diseases such as malaria, diarrhea and malnutrition. We at the TEMAK clinic are grateful and proud to be here in order to offer the needful advice for the prevention and treatment of such infections. We use high quality drugs but at low and affordable prices in consideration of their financial status The children, young women and teenage mothers that are training at our institution also benefit from the services. They are privileged to receive free treatment and medication.

In order to effectively meet the above health needs, we have an equipped pharmacy with medications for all medical conditions such as:

    • Athletes foot
    • Typhoid and malaria
    • Sexually Transmitted Diseases( S.T.D.s)
    • High Blood Pressure
    • Tuberculosis and Pneumonia
    • Diarrhea and vomiting
    • Oral thrush
    • MCH /FP and many more.

The lab and technician

With the growing rate of slum dwellers and hence more infections, the ‘City of Hope’ TEMAK clinic will therefore have a better stock of drugs to serve the numerous patients. It will also continue its ongoing awareness campaigns on nutrition, HIV/AIDS, malaria prevention and better sanitation.

For better health care services, visit us at our Tom Mboya Center behind Jossana Academy. Join our efforts for a better and equipped clinic and laboratory services.

Informal Elementary School

TEMAK offers a non-formal schooling option for the children in the surrounding area from nursery to class 4 who do not have the option of going to a regular school. These children are from the slum areas, mostly orphans or children from single-parent homes.

They do not have the opportunity to attend a regular school for various reasons most often due to lack of funds to buy the necessary uniforms and books. These children are susceptible to child labor. Read their profiles.
