TEMAK, A PLACE OF HAPPINESS:

My name is Fridah Anyango, I am the first born in our family and I have only one brother. I schooled up to class eight ,where I did my K. C. P .E., after giving birth to my daughter.

Life at home was very hard because the finances were not forthcoming in an expected way. My mother being single, was very much pressurized to raise money for food and other basic needs in our home by running small businesses.

Having given birth while still in school did not please my mother and this made her to see my baby and I as burdens to the family. I did not feel comfortable at home though I still helped my mother in doing her businesses in order to raise money for food. I felt that I was a misfit to the family as well as to the society and this brought a feeling of hopelessness and I felt so unhappy.

I longed to go ahead with my education or even to do a skill and this prayer was answered when I received a letter from TEMAK to train in tailoring and dressmaking . I really appreciate this opportunity because I can now look forward to a better tomorrow

Other than that, I have learnt many new songs that I did not know before I came to TEMAK. This is surely a place of happiness and I am not the same as before ."
