About
TEMAK Clinic And Laboratory services. |
God
has been so faithful to provide for TEMAK and empowering us in many ways. We are trusting the Lord that He alone will
provide us with the things we need as we strive to reach out to the hurting
people of Kenya.
If you are interested in bringing your efforts
and allowing the Lord to bless the people of Africa - there are many opportunities
for you to get involved at TEMAK,
either as an individual or as a group...
You
can be a global wholesaler for over 300
arts and crafts items!
TEMAK
provides a conducive atmosphere for girls and children to acquire some
craft skills e.g. doll making, tie and dye, batik and creating tin and
wire products, which are later sold. The income is used in support of
the girls' projects or given out to individual girls or their groups to
start small scale business. TEMAK uses the same income to pay rent for
those girls who are very desperate. With every purchase you make, you
will help us support the girls and children since every penny goes 100%
in support of their educational, vocational and social support.

We are trying
to buy the building that we have been renting now for 4 years
 |
TEMAK
has been housed at a three bed roomed building in Kisumu's Tom Mboya
Estate. The
landlord has offered to sell this nice property at $38,462. |
TEMAK pays rent of $154
monthly and purchasing the property will ease our work and allow us
accommodate and support 300 children and girls per year, up from the present
130.

Our school
needs improvement
TEMAK
helps 120 needy orphan children but has less income hence cannot cater
for all their basic needs. Some children even do without food, while TEMAK
can only provide porridge once a week. These children need support in
the provision of food, books, medication and school uniforms.
You
can support a child for $26 a month.

Our clinic
lacks medication
Our
clinic is treating skin infections, which are a common problem amongst
people living with HIV. In the last one year, 13,000 people have
been treated; both at the centre and from the surrounding communities.
Counseling is offered to the clients, and followed up by home-based care.
Women, children and men are benefiting from this facility. However, medication
for opportunistic infections is in short supply, as are anti-retrovirals
to support the infected while HIV testing kits and equipment are needed
too. To achieve our goals, the clinic needs $1,068 monthly and
this will enable us support 5,000 children and women live longer, healthier
and happier.

Assist girls living with HIV
The number of orphans
has increased in this region as a result of HIV/AIDS and related diseases. At TEMAK, the girls learn various skills and come together
in support groups, where they are trained as peer counselors while receiving
continuous counseling. The support groups are at the forefront in the
campaign against AIDS.
Each
of the girls needs $50 monthly for medication and food.

Help stop
female genital mutilation
With
a yearly gift of $5,000 you can help
save the lives and health of innocent girls in Kisii District through
education, seminars, camps, crusades, intercession and alternative Christian
rites.
Due
to AIDS many girls have been left to care for their
siblings.
These child-headed
households are supported by TEMAK but you have the opportunity to donate
a monthly gift in order to assist the girls so that they do not have to
get involved in prostitution or illegal income-generating activities.
