PHASE
ONE
CONSTRUCTION OF THE KINDERGARTEN, NURSERY AND BABY HOME AT THE CITY OF HOPE
|
PURPOSE
The
purpose and use of the Kindergarten and Nursery School at the City of
Hope complex cannot be under estimated. The fact that the young
mothers will be coming to the vocational school with their little
children creates the necessity for a place for their children to learn
and play while they are in class. The Kindergarten will also have a
baby care section where the very little ones can be taken care of and
fed by a nurse and caretaker while their mothers are in class. The
baby care will also act as mothers training unit where the young
mothers will be taught about care of their children and basic hygiene.
This
Unit will be able to play a vital role in ensuring that the children
of the teen mothers are not only fed and nursed, but that they also
give peace to the mothers to be able to concentrate in class while
they can be called for any emergencies as need arise to attend to
their children. It will also allow for a closer supervision,
counseling and skill building in the children.
