TEMAK Nursery children had a wonderful time of
learning from the mission team. They were taught lessons in Craft, English,
Bible, Math, Music and they also had time for games and refreshments. The
children were divided in three groups according to their classes, that is
the baby class, middle class and the final class. Olga, the nursery teacher,
co-operated and assisted the mission team in every way possible.
| CRAFT AND
MATH
Kate Buccigross , Kendal Gadd and Ricky
Eldridge specialized in this subject. They taught the children how to
draw and color pictures. Kate taught them how to identify different
shapes like the rectangle and the oval.
She was humbly sitting on the floor
with the children, having an aim of explaining to them effectively.
The children had the anticipation of learning from foreigners as their
faces lighted with smiles. |

BIBLE
AND MUSIC
Thomas Hergenrader was a talented
guitar player and he used the gift to minister to the children as he
taught them during the music lessons. Sarah Web and Ricky assisted him
during the Bible classes.
The bible stories taught comprised of
the story of Zacheause and Jesus. They used gesture, pictures and
physical demonstration to elaborate the stories to the children. |
| Thomas
and Kendal went to the extent of climbing up a tree to demonstrate
what Zacheaus, (being very short ) did in order to see Jesus passing
by. |

RECREATION
AND GAMES
Sarah Webb, Bethany and Jake Iueders
taught the English letters and were also in charge of the recreation
and games. She taught them how to pronounce and write letters.
Mrs. Philomena has a lot of love for
the children and this she demonstrated by jumping on a rope with them
during their games time. Children learn by watching and the best way
is to lead by example. Dean Gadd portrayed the love of God to the
children by giving them attention and playing with them. |
| The sensitive
part of these needy orphans was well taken care of and their spiritual
growth was effectively shaped by all in authority.
To crown it all the mission team took
the children for a retreat to Mega City, a shopping mall in Kisumu,
which houses a play center for kids. This took place on the seventh
day of the conference. The children really had much fun out of
classes.
