This activity was led by Kate Buccigross of the mission team. She taught the girls how to make beans stew with various spices as she explained step by step amidst her unique laughter from time to time. The recipe was from her own culture and it was something new for the girls to learn

Members of the mission team were also interested in learning how to cook our local meals, especially ‘chapatis’. The girls explained to them, being led by Maureen Achieng and Fridah Anyango as the experts. Some of the team members like Thomas and Ricky tried to do it practically.
Kendal Gadd was also not left out in the kitchen as he helped to slaughter a chicken for lunch. It was a unique experience to pass on the techniques of Kenyan culture to foreigners. This portrayed the love of Christ in our hearts as well as theirs.

Lunch was prepared daily during the conference and was served to all. Everyone was happy and grateful for God’s provision at such a time.
