Katolo Community center >> Apiary (bee keeping)

This unit is an introduction to bee keeping as an income generating activity. The initial establishment has 7 bee-hives and an apiary shed.

Objectives: 

  1. Introduce bee keeping as an income generating activity in the communty..

  2. Improve nutrition of the locals

  3. Support orphans and care-givers.

  4. Construct bee hives for the community at the center at a reduced cost.

 Activities 

  • Construction of beehives.

  • Training of farmers.

  • Supporting community women to start their own Apiaries through small loans programme.

  • Processing and marketing of honey.

TEMAK's retail centers offer a variety of handmade crafts ranging from Beaded Jewelry, Clothing and Textile, Soapstone, Household Items, Hyacinth and Sisal Items, Toys and Much More. Wholesale opportunities exist for interested business people.
