Food security is a major concern for  TEMAK in this poor rural community. By introducing foods that are resistant to draught and  can withstand flooding has helped put food back to the table for many Aids Orphans in this village.

The objectives of this food security projects are;

  •  To introduce to the community varieties of crops that are resistant, adaptable, high yielding and profitable.

  • To process and preserve produce for better marketability.

  • To demonstrate the value and benefits of Agro forestry, manure usage and organic farming

  • Diversification of crops and training in good crop husbandry methods.

  • Demonstration and training of good farm management methods

  • Flood control and water harvesting

In the last three years, community training in Agriculture and value addition has taken place especially in seed sourcing. Demonstration plots have been  Establish and training plots and farms identified in the community through contact farmers.  Organic farming has been introduced and the community trained in marketing.
