ABANDONED WITH TWO KIDS – AT 20 I grew up in a very poor family. My mother did casual jobs to get income which was so little it could not take us to school. I had to drop out of school to give way to my brothers. At the age of 16, mother married me off to a man who was much older than me. Later, my mother started ailing and died. I stayed with the man for 3 years during which we were blessed with two children. In the fourth year of our marriage, the man started being unfaithful and later on, just abandoned me. I had no food; the children are malnourished and grow thin. I had no one to turn to since I was an orphan. My heart was wounded and I even thought of committing suicide. Thank God for the counselor who introduced me to TEMAK. There, I was counseled and now I can live my life. The only challenge is how to take care of my upkeep and that of my two children. I am now HIV positive and I need anti-retrovirals so that I can live longer and take care of my children. I am only 20 years old. I need your help please. TEMAK will train me in some skills which I can use to earn money later. For now, I need to pay rent, food and get medication. I need your support.
