Benter Adhiambo Born: 1990 |
Benter is Schooling at Kuth Awendo Primary School where her perfomance is good. She was born in Katolo Village in 1990 and her father died six years later, just as she was joining primary school. Her widowed mother abandoned her a year later leaving her with an old grandmother. When Benter got to Std 3, her grandmother also passed away. Benter has had to start a new life with her step father who is a cyclist carrying people and luggage to earn a living. Benter is in need of food clothing and school fees. |

Teresa Akinyi Born: 1998 |
Teresa Akinyi is only 5 years old and in Nursery School, Her perfomance is good, a sign that she is a hard working pupil. Her attendance of school has been irregular due to intermitent sickness.Teresa's mother's daily income is low and she cannot provide for her basic needs, she is a temporary gardener.Teresa needs medication, fees, school uniform and consistent support. |

Nancy Auma Born: 1986 |
Nancy's father died when she was eight years old. At the time of his death, Nancy's mother was just a gardener planting maize, beans & millet. Nancy started her pre-primary school a year after her father's death. However, she was attacked by polio in the second term and she has been disabled since then and can no longer walk, and she was forced to discontinue her education. Nancy needs financial and medical help in order to continue her education. |

Charles Onyango Born: 1996 |
Since the death of his father in 1996, Charles' mum works in peoples' farms and houses as a house-maid as well as doing farming in her small garden.The mother is sickly and unable to provide for her family forcing the kids to go out begging sometimes.Charles requests for help in food, clothes, medication, school fees, care and support. He is an average boy and wants to make it to college. |

Synthia Achieng' Born: 2000 |
Born to a single mother, Synthia is now suffering from persistent ailments with no one to take her to hospital.She has no one to listen to her and to bring her the good things that a baby needs from parents.She has to be with her ailing grandmother who is pleading for help. |

Esther Riziki Born: 1988 |
Esther is doing her final year in primary school and is optimistic that she is going to pass for she is highly disciplined. Currently she is a prefect in Kanyangoro Primary School. Esther reminisces with fondness the love of her mother and how she misses it. She is a very sociable girl and has good relations with the other students of the school, her friends and relatives. She is under the care of her old grandmother, and pleads for school fees, uniform, shoes, books, food and medicine. |

Lilian Adhiambo Born: 1988 |
Lilian is schooling at Kanyangoro primary school. Her father died in 1993 following a tragic car accident and left her a partial orphan before even begining her pre-primary school education. Lilian's mother, though a small scale farmer says that production is low given that the area is flooded during the rainy seasons. Lilian has progressed well with her education and will sit for her K.C.P.E examinations next year. She is in great need of books, food, clothes and fees. |

Washington Oduor Onditi Born: 1987 |
Washington lost both his parents due to HIV related diseases and is currently staying with an old lady aged over 70 years who he identifies as "grandma". This old lady cannot provide for him; he therefore pleads for Secondary School fees, textbooks, uniform, shoes, and all other basic learning materials. He also needs food, medication, sleeping materials and shelter. |

Brenda Akoth Born: 1993 |
Brenda's mum is a small scale farmer and works in other people's farms in order to improve her living standards. Brenda is a good student but has an acute eye problem that needs urgent attention if she is to continue with her studies. She also needs food, medicine, school fees, clothes, shelter, care and support. She would appreciate if well wishers came to her rescue. |

Kennedy Ouma Born: 1990 |
Ken is a partial orphan aged 13 years old. He is in class 4 staying with his poor mum. She sells kales in a small kiosk and the money is not enough to provide for her family needs. Ken helps his mum to carry and sell kales in the market. He is a good student and is ambitious to be a doctor but according to the family situation, his chances of making it are very slim. He therefore kindly requests for support, stationery, clothes uniform and food. |

Hellen R. Auma Born: 1994 |
Since the death of her father followed by that of her mother, Hellen has been under the care of her aunt who, despite intermittent problems with her knees and other joints, cultivates her land in order to provide for the needs of her family. Hellen assists with fetching water, firewood and washing utensils. Hellen is an average student and is seeking assistance in terms food, school fees, clothing and shelter. |
76 year old Hellen lost her children -- and now raises 27 grandchildren single handedly.
